Your breaths, like ascendant fires
Lick my ear lobe
Dispatching all through my body
Butterflies of incandescence
Your heart, like a metronome
Speeds me forward
Entranced by its relentless beat
I surrender to your rhythm
Your murmurs, like timeless songs
Tease my longings
Resonating with my heartstrings
Into deep emotive duets
Your passion, like a high tide
Floods my senses
In every wave that rushes past
I'm feeling more echoes of you
Lick my ear lobe
Dispatching all through my body
Butterflies of incandescence
Your heart, like a metronome
Speeds me forward
Entranced by its relentless beat
I surrender to your rhythm
Your murmurs, like timeless songs
Tease my longings
Resonating with my heartstrings
Into deep emotive duets
Your passion, like a high tide
Floods my senses
In every wave that rushes past
I'm feeling more echoes of you
Written 2006-01-11 for Tiara.
This piece is a response to Tiara's You, and borrows both its title and structure.
Another source of ideas was Murmur of your lips, about which Tiara said: I must say if you've never written erotic poetry before you've got a good start for one... So, I picked a motif from each line and wrote a stanza on each, in reverse order.
The last stanza was, in my opinion, the most emotive and therefore the hardest to write. I had two different versions of it: the one I chose, which reflected the love of water that Tiara and I shared; and one that might fit in with the butterflies theme a bit better:
Your passion, like fresh nectar
Feeds my senses
In every drop of tenderness
I'm feeling more echoes of you

this is such a wet living piece.. I can´t help but think of crashing waves, and that of love but also the separation of people by the ocean.
